Ayna and I came up with an awesome design for a 3D object with a moveable component. We created a hamster on a wheel intending for it to be able to move around the wheel (even after 3D-printing it out). We then placed the Hamster on a "T" bar, and implemented a track that the "T" bar was encased in (note: see Figure 3) . Unfortunately we had a few problems....

I apologize for the pictures, for some reason they get flipped every time I import them...
Anyway... I decided to use plastic vacuum molding and polymer casting to make a copy of my digital camera. This turned out pretty well, except that I didn't realize I was supposed to spray mold release into the plastic mold before pouring the polymer... I ended up having to cut around the plastic. It turned out alright and I had a snazzy plastic case on my camera for protection…

Although I struggled to decide who to take as inspiration, I finally settled on Andy Goldsworthy. He is a sculptor that focuses on using materials in nature. There is actually an Andy Goldsworthy sculpture at Cantor Arts Center at Stanford. The piece that I decided to use is titled "River Of Earth" …
